Reach Your World realizes that we often doubt ourselves. We do not share our faith because we’re nervous that we’re not going to say it right. Or we are fearful that the other person may ask a question to which we do not know the answer. But even scarier, is that we often times doubt our own faith. Do we really believe? If we did, why do we sin? Why don’t I say and do the things I ought to? We can often times be fearful that we can’t share Christ because we’re not 100% sure ourselves.
Did you know that doubt is okay? It is. You can be a Christian and still doubt. We all often doubt ourselves. We know we’re not perfect and sometimes that insecurity can creep into our belief in Christ. Don’t be afraid of doubt but tackle it head on by diving into God’s Word. Remind yourself of God’s Truths. Read them. Memorize them. And ask God to replace your doubt with faith.
A recent survey by Barna shows that the number of teenagers sharing their faith has decreased in recent years: http://www.mnnonline.org/article/14487. Yet, even in an age of tolerance, what is the best way for Christians to show our love for others?
Reach Your World believes the ultimate demonstration of love for our friends and family is to share Jesus with them. But is it that easy? Often times, youth who have never shared their faith with someone else before or who have only done it on mission trips find it difficult to share Christ with their friends and family? And others find it easier to pass out tracts or share with strangers than to invest real time and effort in building relationships with our school friends, family members, and those people we know and love. Why is that? Are we too selfish? Do we lack a passion to sacrifice for the good of others? Are we just hoping to share with strangers so we are not rejected by someone we love? Or are we just checking it off our list quickly so we can feel good about ourselves? If we knew we had the cure for cancer and one of our friends was dying from cancer, would we be afraid to share with them?
